We have good news!!! 3/3/2021

The mekinist appears to be working! Sarah is feeling better, her balance is better than it’s been in quite a while and her MRI today showed what her neuro oncologist believes to be reduced blood flow to the tumor and that it’s even a bit smaller. We are waiting for Johns Hopkins to weigh in and the official radiology reports, but if Sarah’s Dr is thrilled so are we!!!!

The rash has started and it seems worse during the day and then mellows over night and Sarah has some swelling in her legs. They want her to try compression socks. There are so many fun ones runners use this should add an element of fun and feminity to the rest of her Mekinist routines.

Another MRI in a month.

Making tonight even better we got home and our dad had put lightbulbs in the lights at Sarah’s writing studio and we hooked up the electric heater/faux fireplace before I headed home.

Lastly, I would like to give thanks, thanks to the powers that be and science that there is something to treat this tumor and that it’s working. Thanks for all of you, Sarah has received so many kind words, thoughtful texts, and prayers we are incredibly greatful. My small family is also appreciative of the help, people are volunteering to help in the greenhouse, another friend made Patrick a birthday dinner since I was not home for his birthday today, and I too have received wonderful letters reminding me to take care of myself. We cannot say enough how much we appreciate the support that all of you are offering up in kindness and love for Sarah!
